Saying Goodbye to Lotus Bowl: A Gratitude-Filled Farewell
What a journey it has been! From the first prototypes that started on a 3D printer in my living room (with the help of an engineer in Italy who assisted with the modeling) to navigating the complexities of injection plastic molding, bamboo biopolymers, and all the times I had to go back to the drawing board—I’ve learned more than I ever could have imagined.
Along the way, I became a crash-course expert in design patents, IP protection, freight forwarding, customs brokering, warehouses, 3PLs, professional photography and videography, social media, PPC ads, returns and disposals, logistics, Amazon fees, the Lacey Act, taxes, and so much more. It was a wild ride, full of challenges, lessons, and growth, and I’ll carry all of it forward to my next adventure.
To everyone who supported the Kickstarter campaign—whether you love and use your Lotus Bowl every day or it didn’t quite work out for you—thank you for believing in this vision. Your support has meant everything.
To the influencers on IG, Amazon, and other platforms, thank you for your support and in loving this product!
Over the past year, nearly 2,000 Lotus Bowls found their way into happy homes. We still use and love the three in our own kitchen, and I have a few spares if anyone was hoping to put one under the tree this Christmas—just let me know!
Seeing Lotus Bowls bring joy to so many people has been the most rewarding part of this journey. While this chapter is coming to a close, it’s with immense gratitude and a smile. The experience, the lessons, and the support I’ve received have all been priceless.
Here’s to new beginnings and future adventures!
With love and gratitude,
Samantha (& Steve too!)
